Conceived by husband-and-wife team Rob and Mia in 2018, the Tree Marquee is a sustainably built marquee with ecological values at its core.
Made from reclaimed FSC-certified UK Douglas fir using traditional timber-framing techniques, the Tree Marquee is portable and available in two sizes, making it ideal for weddings and events of up to 170 guests. The result is a truly unique, stunning piece of craftsmanship.
In the spirit of sustainability, nothing has been wasted in construction. The marquee's offcuts have been used to make a shepherd’s hut, an office desk and part of the extension for a friend’s house. Even the excess steel from one of the hinge brackets has been repurposed as a skateboard rack, with the remaining wood being used to heat Rob and Mia’s house.
With a background in carpentry and farming, Rob’s lifelong love affair with wood, sustainable building techniques and alternative living manifests itself in various forms, from wood-fired hot tubs, chunky outdoor furniture and oak playgrounds, to a restored 17th-century barn, a very modified Land Cruiser and the pair’s own off-grid home.
Based in the Chalke Valley on the Wiltshire/Dorset border, the Tree Marquee is available for hire year round across Wiltshire, Dorset, Hampshire and Somerset.
